This is an ode to Georgia O'Keefe and her love of New Mexico. A representation of the Sun Dagger in Chaco canyon, this light pattern was an example of the incredibly complex way the ancient Puebloans kept track of the equinox. To me, as the painting came into form, it began to take on new meaning as it became more abstract; representing the cyclical, our deep connection to earth, and as women, bringing new life into being to begin the process again throughout the ages.
