This one was fun. I absolutely love it and I don't always say that about my own paintings!! The colors are almost iridescent, the lines and play of values all contribute to make it just fun and interesting to look at. The only thing it's lacking is a title and I need your help with that! Give me a suggestion in the comment section if you feel some inspiration!
I had some help with this one, by the way. I was lucky enough to attend a workshop by Alicia Farris in St. Charles. I love her work, and the way she paints. She is an analytical painter, but at the same time, extremely intuitive. So watching her process is intriguing. And, I find, it is very similar to the thought process I use to go about painting .
Before I went to my first workshop with Alicia last summer, I didn't truly understand my own process. I recognized it when the "magic " happened, but it took watching someone who went about it in the same way to truly understand myself as a painter. Strange, I know, but when I employed her tactics to my paintings, they took off. It was like an intersection of all that I knew coming together. Kismet! Wow, the power of learning from other artists!!
Take a look at her website- https://afarris.com/works She is internationally known and a really cool person if you get the chance to take a workshop with her.
I continue to learn and grow in my art from the inspiring, talented artists all around me. It is a privilege and and honor to be on the receiving end, and I hope to always pay it forward!
